Argyll Ruane Group sold to The Institution of Mechanical Engineers

Andrew Weaver advised shareholders of Argyll Ruane Group on its sale to The Institution of Mechanical Engineers ("IMechE").

Andrew said "The Argyll Ruane group is a well established and highly regarded business working within the Non-Destructive Testing sector.   We were instructed by shareholders with a very precise mandate of what they wanted to achieve from the sale process and we're delighted to announce the sale of Argyll Ruane to IMechE.  The synergies of this deal were clear from the beginning and we believe it's a great result for all stakeholders.  Good luck to our clients in retirement"

The deal was achieved by working in close collaboration with other professionals representing The Argyll Ruane Group, most notably legal advisors for the vendors, Jon Bloor at Prettys in Ipswich.

Non Destructive Testing Training Organisation joins Institution

The internationally recognised non-destructive testing company ‘Argylle Ruane Group’ (ARG) has today joined together with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.

Stephen Tetlow, Chief Executive of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers said:
“Non-destructive testing is vital to an extremely broad range of engineering sectors.  Aligning the world-class professional standards of our Institution with the experience and reputation of ARG in this specialist technology will bring a range of new training, inspection, certification and consultancy services both to our members and clients of ARG.  I see this as not only enabling new standards and techniques across many important industries – but also helping to advance the pace of innovation in an ever-increasing range of applications”.

Martin Dawson, Founder of ARG, said:
